Roof Repair in Madison, MS

Done properly, a repair protects everything around it. Done carelessly, it relocates the leak somewhere harder to find, which is why so many second opinions begin by scraping off someone else's sealant.

We trace water back to where it actually entered instead of patching the nearest suspicious spot, and we will tell you honestly when a roof is not worth repairing at all.

There is no sales team here. You talk to Jacob or Jordan directly, and a superintendent runs every job.

Madison Storm Dates Are the Repair List

You can nearly date the repairs in this city from the weather record. Baseball size hail did significant roof damage in the Lake Caroline area in January 1999. In November 2001, the same system as the Fairfield tornado dropped hail near Graystone that the National Weather Service said damaged numerous roofs.

March 2013 brought a hail swath from south of Flora into Madison that damaged cars and roofs. Easter Sunday 2020 put ping pong ball hail on the west side of the city, June 2023 dropped half dollars on the north side, and April 2024 brought more near Whisper Lake.

Tornado damage here tends to arrive as roof damage. An EF1 from Mannsdale into Madison in March 2009 did damage that was mostly to roofs at around 110 miles an hour, and an EF1 near Chapel Lane and Mannsdale Road in April 2014 left shingle damage at about 105.

Hail Bruises, Wind Creases, and Neither Leaks Today

Hail usually does not punch a hole. It bruises the mat under the granules, which shortens the life of the shingle without leaking this year. Wind lifts and creases shingles without removing them, so a roof can be compromised and still look intact from the ground.

That is why the inspection happens on the roof with a camera, and why those photographs matter later. If a claim follows, evidence gathered before you file is worth considerably more than an argument after.

Gutters, Drainage and the Clay Underneath

Madison County sits in the Yazoo Clay belt, and the Mississippi Bureau of Geology is blunt about what that clay does. It swells when wet, shrinks when dry, and the forces involved are strong enough to lift tons of concrete.

What makes that a roofing problem is the list of causes those geologists name for isolated foundation movement. Rain gutter drainage is on it, alongside leaking outside faucets and plumbing. A gutter that overflows or dumps against the house in this ground is not only a fascia problem.

So on a Madison leak we look at where water goes after it leaves the roof, not only where it got in. Fixing the leak and leaving the drainage is half a job.

Repair or Replace, and How We Decide

When the roof still has real life in it and the damage is contained, we repair it and give you an honest read on how long you have. Smaller job, smaller invoice, and we would rather do that than sell you a roof you do not need this year.

When it is finished, patching only postpones the same conversation by a season, and we will say so out loud. If a storm caused the damage, decide between repair and claim before filing anything: see storm damage and insurance claims. On a covered claim, you pay your deductible. That is it.

FAQ

Common questions

How fast can you get to a leak?

Active leaks get priority, and Madison is about fifteen miles from the shop. Call the office and we will tell you straight where the schedule stands rather than promise a day we cannot keep.

My roof looks fine from the ground. Could hail still have damaged it?

Yes, and that is the normal case. Hail bruises the mat under the granules and wind creases shingles without removing them. Both shorten the life of the roof without leaking the week it happens.

Can you repair just one section?

Yes, when the rest of the roof has real service life left. If it does not, we will tell you that a patch is money spent to delay the same conversation.

Should I file a claim for storm damage?

Worth deciding before you file. We document the damage properly first so the conversation with your adjuster rests on evidence. On a covered claim, you pay your deductible. That is it.
