Latham Fiberglass Pools in Clinton, MS

A Latham shell is molded in a factory, trucked in whole and lowered by crane in a day. Nothing is assembled in your yard and nothing is poured in place, so there is no joint in it to open later.

We build Latham and nothing else. A company offering three construction methods is average at three of them, and we would rather do one thing the same way every time.

We set expectations up front and we do not over-promise. You approve every dollar before it becomes a bill.

Loess, Not Clay, and Why That Changes the Pitch

Across most of this metro the argument for a molded shell leans on ground movement: expansive clay swells and shrinks, and a single flexible piece rides that better than a rigid jointed assembly fighting it.

In Clinton that argument mostly does not apply, and we would rather say so. Soil survey data puts about 53 percent of the city on Loring loess with low shrink-swell through the profile, and roughly 95 percent on low shrink-swell loess and floodplain silt overall. Stable ground.

So on a Clinton lot the honest case for fiberglass is a different one. It rests on the surface and on what ownership costs over twenty years, not on soil movement. The exception is the eastern edge toward Jackson, where the Siwell and Byram soils put 60 percent clay horizons under a couple of feet of topsoil. Over there the movement argument is real and it is the main reason to choose a shell.

What Twenty Years of Ownership Actually Costs

Fiberglass is non-porous. Algae has nothing to grip, so chemical load stays lower and the weekly routine stays shorter through a long Mississippi summer.

Compare a plaster or gunite finish, which is microscopically rough by nature and gives algae a foothold every time the chemistry drifts, and which eventually asks for a resurfacing cycle that the gelcoat does not. Nobody buys a pool because of its maintenance schedule, but you live with it for two decades, and in a town where nearly seven in ten homes are owner-occupied that horizon is usually the relevant one.

Where fiberglass is the wrong answer we say so. A shape that only exists in concrete, or a yard no crane can serve, is a real answer rather than a sales objection.

Choosing a Shell Around a Clinton Setback

A shell is a fixed shape, and Clinton's rule measures to its rim from property lines and recorded easements alike. That turns shell selection into an arithmetic problem rather than a catalog browse: ten feet clear in R-1 or R-2, twenty in Residential Estate, behind the front line of the house, and clear of any easement crossing the lot.

Add crane access past the fence line, the canopy and the utilities, and the list of shells that genuinely fit your yard is usually shorter than the brochure. We work it out on the site visit and hand you the ones that actually work.

Warranty, Financing and One Number

Latham warrants the shell structurally and we stand behind the installation. After the site visit you get one written, itemized quote, and that is what you are billed, with nothing turning up later from a subcontractor you never met.

Financing runs through Lyon Financial and is worth settling before the dig.

FAQ

Common questions

Why fiberglass if Clinton soil is stable?

Because on stable ground the case rests on the surface rather than movement. A non-porous shell holds far less algae than plaster or gunite, keeps chemical load down and never needs the resurfacing cycle a plaster pool does.

Does the gelcoat need resurfacing?

Not on the cycle a plaster pool does. The finish is smooth, non-porous and durable, which is a large part of why long-run ownership costs less.

How many shapes can I choose from?

Latham makes a wide range. The real filter is Clinton’s setback to the rim, any recorded easement on your lot, and crane access. We tell you what genuinely fits after the site visit.

Is the shell under warranty?

Latham shells carry a manufacturer structural warranty, and the installation is ours to stand behind.
