Latham Fiberglass Pools in Brandon, MS

A Latham shell arrives as one molded piece and is set by crane in a single day. It is not assembled on site, it is not poured in place, and there are no joints in it to open up later. That single fact drives most of the differences between fiberglass and everything else.

Brandon is inside the tight radius where DC Pools & Spas does its own excavation, crane set and deck pour rather than subbing any of it out. The shop is minutes away, so the same crew is on site start to finish.

We install Latham because it is what our crew is set up to do properly. Offering three construction types and being adequate at all of them is a worse deal for you than one company doing one thing to a fixed standard.

Most of our work still comes from word of mouth. Same family standards on every pool install.

Why the Material Suits Rankin County

Central Mississippi soil swells when it is wet and shrinks when it dries, and it does that repeatedly through the year. Anything rigid buried in it is fighting that cycle permanently. A molded shell has enough give to move with the ground instead of cracking against it.

The surface is the other half. Fiberglass is non-porous, so there is nothing for algae to key into. Compare that to a plaster or gunite finish, which is microscopically rough by nature and gives algae a foothold every time the chemistry drifts.

Surface, Chemistry and What You Actually Do Weekly

Through a Mississippi summer the practical difference is chemical load. A non-porous surface holds less, so it demands less to keep balanced, and the weekly routine is shorter. Nobody buys a pool for its maintenance schedule, but it is the thing you live with for twenty years.

The gelcoat finish is also smooth underfoot, which matters more than people expect on steps and benches, and it does not need resurfacing on the cycle a plaster pool does.

None of that makes fiberglass the right answer for every backyard. Where the shape you want does not exist as a shell, or access makes a crane set impossible, we will say so.

Choosing a Shape and Size for a Brandon Yard

Latham makes a wide range of shapes, and the honest constraint is usually your yard. The shell has to physically reach the hole, which means the crane has to reach and the path in has to be clear of fences, canopy and utilities.

Brandon grew hard through the 1990s and 2000s. Many Rankin County yards from that era still have mature trees and side access that was never planned for a crane path, so access measurement is part of every site visit.

We work that out on the site visit and tell you which models are genuinely possible before you fall in love with one that is not. We build regularly around Ross Barnett Reservoir, Brandon City Park and Shiloh Park.

Warranty, Financing and the Quote

Latham shells carry a manufacturer structural warranty, and the installation is ours to stand behind. You get one written, itemized quote after the site visit and that is the number you are billed. No allowances that quietly grow once the ground is open, and no separate invoice appearing from a subcontractor you never hired.

Financing runs through Lyon Financial. It is worth arranging before the build starts. See pool financing.

FAQ

Common questions

Why fiberglass instead of concrete or vinyl?

In central Mississippi soil, a molded shell moves with the ground instead of fighting it, and a non-porous surface holds far less algae than plaster or gunite. Those two things drive the decision more than anything else.

Does the gelcoat surface need resurfacing?

Not on the cycle a plaster pool does. The finish is smooth, non-porous and durable, which is a large part of why the long-run ownership cost is lower.

How many shapes and sizes are there?

Latham makes a wide range. The real constraint is usually your yard, so we tell you which models are genuinely possible after the site visit.

Is the shell under warranty?

Latham shells carry a manufacturer structural warranty, and the installation is ours to stand behind.
