Latham Fiberglass Pools in Madison, MS
The shell is the part homeowners choose first and the part Madison quietly decides for you. A Latham pool is molded in a factory, trucked in whole and lowered by crane, so before any of the catalog matters the question is whether a finished piece that size can physically reach your backyard.
We build Latham and nothing else. A company offering three construction methods is average at three of them, and we would rather be the crew that does one thing the same way every time.
Most of our work still comes from word of mouth. The same standard on every pool install.
Why the Material Suits Madison Ground
Madison County sits in the Yazoo Clay outcrop belt, 400 to 500 feet of it. The state geologists describe expansion forces strong enough to lift tons of concrete, and shrinkage with enough suction to pull foundations down as the soil dries.
Soil data around the city typically shows a loess silt loam near the surface with very high shrink-swell clay layers beneath. Anything rigid and jointed buried in ground that moves like that is fighting it permanently. A molded shell has enough give to move with the ground instead of cracking against it.
That is the honest case for fiberglass here. It is not that other pools cannot be built well in Madison. It is that when the ground moves, the failure mode is worse.

Owning One Through a Madison Summer
The metro runs about 85 days a year at or above 90 degrees and takes roughly 57 inches of rain. Heat feeds algae and rain keeps shifting your water chemistry, so the surface you end up owning matters more here than it would in a dry climate.
A gelcoat shell is non-porous. Algae has nothing to grip, which keeps both the chemical load and the weekly routine smaller, and the finish never asks for the resurfacing cycle a plaster pool eventually does. That is a year-ten difference more than a first-summer one.
Where fiberglass is the wrong answer, we say so. A shape that only exists in concrete, or a yard no crane can serve, is a real answer rather than a sales objection.
What the Ordinance Does to the Catalog
Madison zoning puts the pool behind the front line of the house and demands at least ten feet between the rim and every property line or recorded easement. On an ordinary suburban lot that rule, not the brochure, is what shortens the list of shells that will fit.
Then the crane has to reach. These subdivisions have had decades to mature, so tree canopy, fence lines and side-yard width routinely rule out models that would otherwise suit the house. Both constraints get measured on the site visit, and you get the list of shells that genuinely work rather than the full catalog.
If your neighborhood runs an architectural review committee, the decking and the fence usually go in front of it as well. Settling that early is often the difference between swimming in the spring and swimming in the fall.
Warranty, Financing and One Number
Latham warrants the shell structurally and we stand behind the installation. After the site visit you get one written, itemized quote, and that is what you are billed, with nothing turning up later from a subcontractor you never met.
Financing runs through Lyon Financial and is worth settling before the dig rather than midway through it.

Common questions
Why fiberglass instead of concrete or vinyl in Madison?
Madison County sits in the Yazoo Clay belt, where the soil swells and shrinks with moisture. A molded shell has enough give to move with that instead of fighting it, and a non-porous surface holds far less algae than plaster or gunite.
Does the gelcoat surface need resurfacing?
Not on the cycle a plaster pool does. The finish is smooth, non-porous and durable, which is a large part of why the long-run ownership cost is lower.
How many shapes and sizes are there?
Latham makes a wide range. The real constraint is usually your yard and the Madison setback rules, so we tell you which models are genuinely possible after the site visit.
Is the shell under warranty?
Latham shells carry a manufacturer structural warranty, and the installation is ours to stand behind.
